| Ref: 344 Exped Name: Ex Chilean Paddle Hussar From: Fri 10th Jul 2009 Until: Fri 24th Jul 2009 Going To: Chile Overview Exercise Chilean Hussar Paddle will be conducted from PUERTO MONTT. There will be three phases to this expedition. Phase One, lasting five days, will include forward travel, equipment care and a familiarisation package covering the local area, customs and river paddling techniques. Time on the water will be the main effort at this stage, as a basic proficiency must be achieved before the expedition phase. Phase two will be the expedition phase. This will begin at a base camp location and aim to cover the full length of the COMAU FJORD. Each day will end in a new camp being set up, giving the team members time for personal administration, including cooking of a communal meal, hygiene and relaxation. Phase three will include a rest and recovery package of two days in Chile’s cultural centres. Requirement We require two sea kayak instructors.
